Unveiling the 2024 IASC-PA2F Fellowship Program Awardees

The 2024 IASC-PA2F Fellowship Program, a collaboration between the International Arctic Science Committee (IASC) and the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation (PA2F), proudly announces the names of its fellowship recipients.

In commemoration of the 10th anniversary of the IASC Fellowship Program, a total of ten outstanding early career researchers have been selected for various fellowships, with three of them receiving support from the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation. The application and review process were coordinated by the Association of Polar Early Career Scientists (APECS), with a final selection made by the IASC Working Group Chairs and the SAON Leadership.

Meet the 2024 IASC-PA2F Fellows:

1.      Elena Adasheva-Klein (Yale University / New York University, USA)

·        Social Human Working Group

·        Expertise: Human-environment relations, environmental anthropology, environmental humanities

  1. Beatriz Recinos-Rivas (University of Edinburgh, UK)

·        Cryosphere Working Group

·        Expertise: Ice-ocean interactions, numerical modeling, sea level rise

  1. Kathleen Orndahl (Northern Arizona University, USA)

·        Terrestrial Working Group

·        Expertise: Satellite remote sensing; herbivore-vegetation interactions; vegetation change

The IASC Fellowship Program serves as a platform for early career researchers to engage in cutting-edge scientific activities on a circumarctic and international scale, fostering the development of international networks and management skills. The IASC Fellows actively contribute to the work of the IASC Working Groups, covering Atmosphere, Cryosphere, Marine, Social & Human, and Terrestrial domains.

These fellowships supported by the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation are part of capacity building axe of the Polar Initiative, a partnership involving the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, IASC, SCAR, and the Oceanographic Institute of Monaco.
